It's hard to present Hulk as a protagonist IMO, because his alter ego doesn't
talk much or really say anything intelligent. This doesn't lend well to good dialogue. The best way they can present the Hulk in movies is to have them centered around Bruce Banner, or have the other Avengers involved.
