It is fortunate that your brother is doing well but we do our kids a huge disservice if we ignore the earning potential of one degree relative to another. Certainly we should consider more than money when choosing a major, but money should still be considered- especially in light of the massive debt students are taking on to earn that degree. An MD or JD may be worth $150,000 in debt. A bachelors in Social Work is not.
