After living in the South and seeing firsthand how fans really tailgate,
I often felt that tailgating is an area where BYU could really improve, not only to enhance the atmosphere on game day, but also to show visiting fans that we're not a bunch of weirdos who think tailgating is evil.

It's difficult for most of us to commit 6-8 hours of our only day off to to tailgating + attending the game on 6 Saturdays per year, however I think most of us could tailgate 1-2 times per season if we had enough time to plan ahead for it. That's why I think BYU should allow fans to reserve spaces in the tailgating parking lot. You should be able to go online and reserve a tailgating space on the Saturday you want to tailgate.

For example, if you have tickets to the Houston Game then you would reserve a space on Sept 11. If you have a bunch of family in town for the Utah State game, then you would reserve October 3rd. In order to make sure people don't flake out on their commitment, you would get charged a small fee if you don't show up.
