that ball no matter what because it is 1 on 1 practice. If he sees that kind of coverage in a game, he probably doesn't make that throw. In a 1 on 1 drill you put it up there so guys can learn to battle for those balls. In general, the QB needs to throw away from the DB, so that is a throw that would have been better to the back shoulder and more over the top than gunned. It makes it tougher for the WR to catch, but is away from the DB.
Rule of thumb:
- WR even or behind DB = more arc/over the top throw so it is either incomplete or a catch (no int)
- WR in front of DB = low (below the numbers) and hard away from D so it is either catch or on the ground
