just so they can have sex. Does anyone know if this urban legend is actually true? It's been circulating around the internet for years, and I've heard it word of mouth from several people. I heard this happened a long time and the students who did this were later excommunicated because they were making a mockery of a sacred institution. They would drive to Vegas for Spring Break, get married so they could have sex, (so it wouldn't be a sin) and then get a quickie divorce and head back to Provo.
I heard this is the real reason BYU doesn't have a spring or fall break anymore. The administration basically doesn't trust students to have too much time off in the middle of a semester. Can anyone confirm that this actually happened? It sounds believeable to me. I'm sure stranger things have happened at BYU. It's something I've wondered for a long time.
