I know when I was in school that the BYU women's golf coach said that

statistically it was golf but this was 20+ years ago so I doubt this is the case now. Said at that time there was only 1 girl for every 10 boys playing golf yet there were 6 women's scholarships and only 4.5 men's at Div. I schools.

Basically need to find the ration between total number of participants versus total number of scholarships available to determine best opportunity.
