Weird story I heard, not sure if I should tell
I was talking to a buddy of mine whose dad was involved BYU back in the day. I don't want to give away the guy's identity so I'll just say he was involved with medical/rehab stuff.

So over the years with the Whittinghams his dad developed a great relationship with Kyle Whittingham. Loves the entire Whittingham family. So much, in fact, that when Kyle got the head coaching job at Utah, he actually started cheering for Utah over BYU (which is crazy considering how crazy of a BYU fan he was).

Anyway, as my buddy was talking to his Dad about Kyle he mentioned offhand that when Kyle was at BYU he had a lot of problems with two "growths" he had removed on his scalp. It got irritated by his helmet and would bother him quite a bit. When my buddy pressed about growths, his dad told him that it was what's medical people referred to "horns". Apparently they were a few inches long when he got to BYU, but he had them removed and then unfortunately was having some issues with the nerves.

The source is as good as it gets. This is 100% true. Kyle Whittingham has horns.

Pretty wild, right?
