First half strengths and weaknesses
Strengths:
- Taysom. He's basically our entire offense. His feet are what has blown this open.
- Matthews. Seems like a solid possession receiver picking up some nice yardage.
- D secondary. For not having our top CBs, they seem to be pretty decent.

Weaknesses:
- Taysom. He still seems to struggle with reads when he's in the pocket. We have some good deep threat receivers...he's got to be able to take advantage of that or teams will just stack the box and take Taysoms running game away.
- offensive line on running game. The non-Taysom running game is nonexistent. They aren't opening holes or getting any push. Doesn't help that Lasike looks like he's running in slow motion. If we can't get this part down, Texas will kill us. They are going to be ready for Taysom, and if we can't get the rest of the running game ready, they'll shut us down. We need other options on offense besides Taysom's feet.
- dline. They look like Swiss cheese against the running game.
- kicking game. Wash, rinse, repeat from the last few years. Why the hades can't Bronco get this fixed?
- Penalties. As has been pointed out, if Bronco is going to preach discipline, he needs to practice it.

Overall, we look better than last year, but lots of areas to tune up/fix. Hopefully a lot of it is first game mistakes.
