The real question for journalistic integrity is to compare the trib headline for
The Utes... if they're just trying to give more accurate portrayal of the games than the headline for the Utah won should've said something along these lines: "After Slow Start Utah blows out Idaho State" you can make that more creative in your mind if you'd like...

BUT, what was their headline? "Utes Route Idaho State 56-14 in season opener"

There is a second article with the headline of "Utes secondary struggles early against ISU"

There is also a second byu headline "Penalties hold back cougar offense"

So both games were blowouts, you get an accurate picture of how the utes game went, but by the byu headlines you'd think the barely squeaked out a W in a tough battle.

Any way you slice it - poor journalism, but what do you expect from the SLC media?
