I went back and looked at what penalties BYU was flagged for and whether or not they can be quickly remedied. Let me know what you think:

Penalty 1: Personal Foul by Mitch Mathews. This was a dead ball, late hit penalty. Easily corrected.

Penalty 2: Holding by Brock Stringham. They say holding can be called on every play. So I'm not sure this can be as easily corrected.

Penalty 3: Offsides on kickoff. Easily corrected. There is no excuse to be offsides on a kickoff.

Penalty 4: Offsides on kickoff. Easily corrected. There is even less of an excuse to be offsides on consecutive kickoffs. The first one, they re-kicked, this second one they added fiver yards to the end of the run.

Penalty 5: Holding by Tejan Koroma. See above.

Penalty 6: Personal Foul by Teren Houk. Also a late hit, see above.

Penalty 7: Hands to the Face by Brock Stringham. Tough call made even tougher when you're taller than your opponent. Can be corrected by focus, discipline and hand placement.

Penalty 8: Holding by Devin Mahina. See above. This one was a needless hold by Mahina as it was somewhat behind the play. Gotta disengage.

Penalty 9: Holding by JLD on defense. Not sure I agreed with the call as it was in the endzone and I don't think the ball was catchable. But JLD did slightly grab the guy. Can be corrected by better route recognition. But these kinds of calls happen relatively frequently in the red zone on D>

Penalty 10: Delay of Game on BYU. I think this was the sideline infraction. Easily corrected.

Penalty 11: Pass Interference. A fair, but somewhat harsh call. Not readily corrected.

Penalty 12: Personal Foul by Alani Fua. I think this one was his late hit. It wasn't super late, but the guy was already well on the ground when Fua came in late and from behind. Gotta be smarter than that. Easily corrected.

Penalty 13: Unsportsmanlike Conduct by Alani Fua. Taunting is easily corrected and should not be tolerated. I liked how on Twitter Fua tried to make fun of the call to a degree, and Hill responded to him that fishing season is closed. That's good leadership by Hill. Totally unnecessary call and shouldn't happen again. Two 15-yard penalties should be quite a few gassers for Fua on Monday.

Penalty 14: Holding on Mike Wadworth. This one came on a kickoff. Can be corrected. Gotta disengage.

Penalty 15: Roughing the Passer. You can't take three steps after the QB has thrown the ball and THEN still hit him. Easily corrected. Shouldn't happen again.

There you go. 15 penalties and from my perspective 8 of the 15 can be easily corrected.
