So this cat walks into my front yard tonight. It's obviously someone's cat. It's well groomed with a collar but no name tag. I take it to my next door neighbor's to see if they know who it belongs to. They say it belongs to the house next to theirs on the the other side. Apparently these people don't want their cats anymore (there are 2 of them) so they just let them go. My neighbor called them and tried to return one of the cats to them and they stated that they don't want them anymore.

So now this cat won't leave my yard. He is pacing back and forth on my front porch meowing. It's breaking my heart. He is probably hungry. I am really not interested in a pet right now. Do I call the pound? Do I just ignore the cat? I realize the odds of getting a serious answer here are slim to none, but my wife and I keep staring at each other trying to figure out what to do. To make things worse, the cat totally looks like a miniature Cougar.
