I read that we ran a play every 22 seconds which was a bit slower than last year. I noticed this during the game as the team would line up extremely quickly, but Taysom would take his time to analyze the D and call several audibles on plays before snapping the ball.
His play yesterday looked completely effortless. Whether it was running or throwing he looked calm, cool, collected, and I really really liked what I saw from him. His experience w/ this offense allowed him to just play w/out thinking so much and pick apart the D.
Another thing that I liked seeing from Hill was his smarter running. I don't think I ever saw him slide so much in a game last year. I never saw a UCONN player get a good hit on him, and I'm sure the coaches stressed getting down/out of bounds over the offseason.
This will be huge for the Texas game as the Texas D will be out for blood. I won't be surprised if there are several late hits on Taysom and Jamaal this week. Several times last year they would grab Hill's bad leg and twist it after the play. Hopefully the refs will look out for dirty play, and Taysom will continue to run smart and avoid unnecessary hits.
