Taysom looked like he's been watching tape of Russell Wilson this past offseason
Taysom impressed in so many ways. I'm crossing my fingers he can do it against a better defense this week. Of course his run for the TD at the end was typical jaw-dropping Taysom. With that said, here is how he reminded me of Russell Wilson:

1. He slid. When he got out of the pocket, he avoided the big hits. There were a couple of times that he took on the defenders, but he was smart about when to take on the contact and when to avoid it. If he wants to stay healthy in college and also potentially play in the NFL, he has to continue doing this.

2. He avoided the rush and didn't immediately look to run. Like Wilson, Taysom kept his eyes down field after avoiding the rush and continued to look for receivers. This is what makes Wilson special. Taysom will become soooo much more difficult to defend when the DBs have to cover their guys for more than 2.5 seconds and don't immediately abandon their assignments when Taysom breaks containment.

3. Decision making. It seemed like a different QB out there. Taysom's decision making was fantastic. It seemed like the game was 10x slower for him this year than last year.

4. Accuracy. Taysom's accuracy against UConn came out of nowhere for me. If he can keep that up, he'll become a very rich man.

The difference between Wilson and QBs like Locker, RGIII, Kap, etc, are the above 4 traits. Taysom has more height, strength, and speed than Wilson. If he can show that the UConn game wasn't a fluke, he is going to be very dangerous (and, unfortunately, will be a pro after this year).
