This post is 100% the honest truth re: BYU (Bronco) struggles with back-up QB's
When we faced Ratliff, we played a zone and allowed him time to throw, he dropped back... If his first read wasn't open he took off.

Against Oregon St and Cody Vaz BYU did not blitz him once on the first 3 drives (all TDs iirc) he got to sit back pressure free and pick apart BYUs zone and he got into a rhythm.

The truth is BYU has made it easy for these inexperienced players to get their feet underneath them. Bronco has a tendency to only dial up pressure in two situations. 1) when BYU has a comfortable lead and 2) when BYU needs to come from behind. Those two examples I mentioned would have had a much different result in my opinion had BYU gone all out pressure on these two players. It is what I feel BYU will need to do on Saturday as well. I will go nuts if the same strategy is applied as had been done previously...
