It's not so much a matter of "holding back."
It's simply a matter of not facing particular situations in one game, having a far bigger playbook than the number of plays in one game., and differences in what your opponent brings to the table.

UCONN played a lot of deep coverage and as a result, there wasn't much opportunity to go over a top...and I think Taysom was itching to go there. If Texas as we expect brings more up in the box and relies on man coverage, you'll likely see more throws over the top. It isn't that it was being held in reserve, it's that the opportunity might be there Saturday when it wasn't last Friday.

Now we did hold a couple of things back...JSwag brings something to the table that our other backs simply don't have and Blackmon is like Juergans with a bit more size and speed. We have some different personnel that might allow a few different looks. But by and large I think the offense is the offense and it will look a lot like it did against UCONN.

On defense, I think what you saw in the second half will be a bit closer to what you'll see as Howell started working in a few different looks and some different blitz packages. I don't think we'll be overly conservative on D. I think we'll key on stopping the run including a fair share of run blitzes. we want Swoopes to have to drop back and throw. If Gray and Brown are doing all their work, it's a long day. We want Swoopes to have to be the hero. To do that, we have to bottle up Gray and Brown.
