A One and Done Season
Going undefeated against any schedule is difficult and rare.

First, a team needs to be lucky to avoid key injuries. Just look what happened to UCLA. Losing Huntley will dampen its season.

Second, you need to avoid lulls in the season when the rigors create subpar performances. Thursday was a subpar performance where in past years, BYU would have dropped the game. Remember 1990? Ty does the unthinkable and defeats Number 1 ranked Miami, only to tank badly in Oregon.

Third, this season, unlike next season, has no killer games but lots of landmine games. There are two teams that BYU should walk over, probably three. Savannah State already lost to one team 83-9. Yikes. They lost to Middle Tennessee State allowing more than sixty points. Uggh. MTSU should be easy but it is an away game. UNLV is back to its usual struggles.

But each week until the last three games until Cal are landmine games.

Virginia shows it has improved dramatically. I believe BYU will win, especially after the down game Thursday, but believe BYU could easily lose to Virginia.

USU, Nevada, and Boise and UCF because it is clear across the country could all throw BYU for a loop. However, this is the best poised BYU team Bronco has had to run the gamut, but nothing is guaranteed. Beck's team that lost to Boston College should never have tanked that game.

Cavaliers are our focus now. We want revenge. That loss hurt in many ways.
