Show the replays on the jumbo-tron after controversial calls
After the targeting call Thursday night we boo'd and and waited for the replay. It was not shown until after the call was overturned. For some reason BYU does not show replays after controversial calls and in my opinion it minimizes our home field advantage. One of the reasons the home team usually gets a three point swing on the spread is because the crowd has the ability to influence the game. When refs make poor calls they get boo'd. When they show the replay, they get boo'd again. Five to ten yards can be the difference in a win or a loss. In BYU's case it can be the difference between a one loss season and the Miami Beach Bowl, or an undefeated season and a bowl on New Years day. Crowd opinion influences the refs. The refs need to second guess themselves when they are about to make questionable calls that penalize the home team, and when they know they will hear it from the crowd they are less likely to throw a flag. The twelfth man is part of the game but for some reason BYU refuses to maximize our home field advantage by refusing to show replays after controversial calls?
