that was completely unacceptable. I was only spanked a few times, maybe 4 or 5, in my life. But I learned that my parents were to be obeyed, that there were consequences. I truly don't think "time outs" or "talking to's" are as effective. A few good spankings early on in life can really set the tone imo. Usually after a few they aren't needed any more. I don't spank my daughter, I can't bring myself to do it. She is also unfazed by our disciplining as of right now. So maybe she needs one or two.
