It will continue
Attendance drops are continuing for real reasons IMHO... I can see the day when teams begin to downsize their mammoth stadiums to provide more comfort and experience. This is not aimed at the hard core fan, but the high percentage of fans that are more casual. They are not coming for the following reasons:

1. Disposable income has dropped dramatically over the last 5 years. The cost for a family of 6 is significant, especially with parking etc. It is a bigger bite out of the family budget than it was just 5 years ago.

2. Big screen, High Def, DVR football is pretty amazing.

3. As much as we all love it, 5 hours spent attending a game is vastly different than 3 while at home coupled with comfortable seats, bathroom, cheap snacks, and all the big screen, high def, instant replays you want. The majority of us are balancing Family, Church, and Work, against our more selfish pursuits. For SEC and Big12 fans, some of those are the same thing.

4. Hassle... Weather / Traffic / Parking etc.
