I said from a fan's perspective this had the makings of a monster year for BYU and he said everyone in the program believed it. It was just the response I would expect, but combined with Bronco's optimism coming out of fall camp, his confidence was more than just hope. They had experience in the right places, and for the first time since 2009 the offense and defense both looked strong enough to make a serious run. This year is an opportunity to show that BYU is relevant and not going away quietly.

The season is still young but so far they've passed every test and the country is talking about BYU again. With skepticism and disdain in some quarters, sure. But that's always been BYU's role and I love seeing them fill it once again. Maybe the critics will be proved right...or maybe BYU will throw it in their face. This is part of the thrill of following BYU and it's a great time to be a fan. Can't wait to walk into the stadium again on Saturday.
