Entertainment is often written by men about men. It isn't anything more than that. That's also why the comic relief is often male too (such as characters you mention). You also have the shallow white girl wasted stereotype promoted by a lot of divorced men in Hollywood. There are 2 sides to the issue, and it's overblown by both sides.
