I have the over-ear Bose headphones, and they are worth every penny. I use them for work though, so I am not sleeping with them on or leaning my head against a seat. If I were getting them primarily for flying, I think I would like the smaller and more convenient in-ear buds. But I think noise-cancelation is definitely worth the extra cost.
