the bigger issue is being affiliated with hospitals, which in turn leads to affiliation with a medical facility that may/may not offer certain controversial medical services, which the church doesn't want to deal with.

Also, even as a private institution you are going to have government encroach on your clinical operations. Research associated with medical facilities leads them into uncharted territory as well. Just too much oversight and potential controversy.

Don't get me wrong....I would love to see it, because I think it could be world class in a short period of time, but there just isn't any want to at this point.
