We need to stop worrying so much about SOS as fans.
There's nothing BYU can do except win every game on its schedule. It that means we go to a New Year's Bowl, then awesome! If that means we have a shot at the playoff, then awesome! Either way, we have absolutely no control over what our opponents do. Unfortunately, the national media will talk at wits end about our SOS like it's something we have control over. We schedule some of these teams years in advance and we really have no idea how good or bad these teams will be. Historically over the past 10 years a lot of these teams on our schedule have had really good years, and a lot of these teams have had down years.

Look at Virginia, for example. Virginia was horrible just last year, and now they are looking pretty legit. Either way, I think we need to not worry as much about SOS. I will still follow all of the teams on our schedule in hopes that they do well, but I'm not going to fret when they lose games they should have won, or vice-versa. It is what it is, and if it keep us out of the playoff (assuming we go undefeated), then at least we'll play in a freakin' awesome New Year's Bowl game, and it will have been a fun ride.
