In a nut shell Style points will in some rare circumstances help your cause tremendously, but most of the time are not a huge factor. Against Texas, BYU exhibited style points and they were a game changer. But against Houston….probably was not boing to make any difference, especially as BYU jumped 4 spots in the polls anyway.

That seems to be a topic on CB, whether directly or indirectly. It seems some people are upset that we didn’t simply crush Virginia, and Houston the week before. Almost acting like we lost the games in some cases. To those fans I say, “enjoy the ride.” Our offense was frankly awesome in that game, 41 points on sixty something plays!? VA executed their game plan almost as well as they could have, they kept the ball out of Taysom's hands, their offense held on to the ball) and BYU scored 41 points.
In a game that we feel was underwhelming and will hurt the national perception of BYU, ESPN didn’t have VA highlights to show, but they did call Taysom Hill a Heisman candidate twice during the highlights, showed Hine's return, and punctuated the highlight package with, “BYU rolls in Provo”

We already won THE game we had to win with style…with style. So hopefully some of the drive extending penalties get cleaned up, and we start beating teams by 40 points, but for now we have a special team to watch and I’d rather not spoil it by wishing we would have won by 21..
