because all that does is make your schedule look weaker in the process. You're better off beating Texas on a last second TD bomb or beating UVa while scoring only 1 offensive touchdown (hello UCLA). Because doing it that way doesn't make everyone decide you just beat a horrible team. Think about it. Yes, we need to play the best we can, but in the end, blowing everyone out doesn't matter that much in terms of post-season. The chances of making the playoff are pretty much zero, and winning them all will still be good enough for one of the other bowls. That said, Texas and Virginia and Houston are all actually not horrible teams, and the season will bear that out, IMO. The problem is it's hard for that early season perception to go away.
