Excellent TV coverage hurts attendance. The NFL does a great job of blackouts
for this very reason.
There are plenty of fans who realize they can watch the game in HD in the comfort of their living room and save themselves hundreds of dollars, a messy commute, and not have to sit in the sun or cold.
