Anyone know any kids who have played D-III Football back East?
My son is a smart kid (30 on ACT) and top 5% of high school class. To make a long story short, he is being recruited to play for a number of D-III colleges back East that have high academics. Most of the schools are in the NESCAC (Williams, Hamilton, Bowdoin, Colby, Middlebury, etc.). I'm curious if anyone knows of any kids who have lived out West and gone and played D-III football back East far away from home. Aside from the enormous cost/student loans to attend any of these schools, I'm worried about how my son will handle the rigorous academics and being so far away from home. I see that many of the kids on these rosters have attended private schools back East. My son has gone to the local public high school in New Mexico. He would definitely be an outsider, in terms of background. I would love to know if any kid from Utah went back East for D-III football and succeeded academically.

If you know someone who plays for Southern Virginia University, that really doesn't help, as most of that roster is Utah kids and its an LDS school.
