Here is the national ranking for ozone, long and short term pollution.

Salt Lake City is ranked #8 for short-term particle pollution. It doesn't make the 25 worse cities in the other two categories.

I am frequently in LA, and the air is ALWAYS cleaner in LA. FAR CLEANER

Probably because during winter inversions much of what you see is water vapor
