The voices of those calling for major intervention
to stop the bleeding of the BYU football program are always going to be diluted by the more liberal type of BYU fans.

Unfortunately, there will always be those who are just happy to have the social/family activity aspect of BYU football regardless of the outcome on the scoreboard or in the annual W/L column. They are just happy we have a team. They are "just happy to BE there," by gosh. Grab your free 25-cent BYU tee shirt you got three games ago, saddle up the kiddos and go looking for more free stuff, grinning like Cheshire Cats. These are the types who will continue to show-up to activities like the Big Blue Bash or the Bronco Mendenhall Show and clap/cheer on cue like trained chimps for the mics to pick up, creating the impression that all is well amongst Cougar Nation. They will create a false aura to the BYU admin, who will incorrectly interpret their actions to be a vote of confidence for BroncoBall.

The only group which has enough clout to really get the attention of Tom Holmoe and the BOT are the Legacy Donors. They have the power and the leverage with their considerable donations to bring pressure to bear to make some sweeping changes. The rest of us, by comparison, can make ourselves heard by the little things: choosing to do something else with your time & money than buy tickets to an underperforming product. We can stay away from Meet the Team nights and the taping of the Coaches Show in growing numbers until the admin finally wakes-up and sees the light.

But, our efforts will be negated, to a point, by those who continue to show-up, buying into the Bronco excuses and propaganda like those brainwashed Army soldiers in 'The Manchurian Candidate.'

Do you care enough about BYU football to actually participate in an intervention by refusing to continue enabling the Broncos and Nick Howells and Robert Anaes of the world?
