Flip your logic around: the measure of a good coach is best made when he/they

do a lot with a little. The players aren't letting us down in 2014 and the coaches didn't make 2012 what it was. The players made 2012 great and the coaches are letting us down in 2014.

Good coaching doesn't disappear with underperforming players...it masks weaknesses and changes the approach to maximize chances. The last 3 weeks BYU's D has done anything but that in getting repeatedly abused by superior opposing coaches.
