I'm starting to think Bronco is just hoping to remind us all that there are more important things than football.
2012: BYU had an elite defense. But Bronco pairs that with the worst QB BYU has seen in a generation. result is an average team.
2014: BYU's offense returns, and has the potential to be elite until Taysom goes down, but continues to perform at least adequately even through losing it's 2 best players. Bronco pairs this offense with a uniquely (un)qualified DC. result will likely be another average team, likely going 8-5 or so.
It's like the two sides of the ball are swinging on a pendulum in exactly the opposite direction. I'm not sure this could be done by accident.
