Our D-Line consists of gap-stoppers, not pass-rushers. There isn't an experienced, traditional rush-end on the team, and Bronco's D philosophy is to generate pressure primarily from the LB spots. Unfortunately, our veteran linebackers are not good, for the first time in a long time (outside of Fua, who is injured and dare I say, somewhat over-rated). And behind these starters lies a host of talented but inexperienced underclassmen.
Our offense, even with all the injuries, has been good enough to win the last 3 games. Our D just plain sucks.
Having watched Bronco's scheme the last 10 years, I have to say he's probably correct regarding the "system". I think the scheme is solid and we simply don't have the talent right now to execute and compete. That's not an excuse...(it's the coach's responsibility to develop the talent)...it's simply the truth.
