Here's an optimists perspective
I'm pretty disgusted with Bronco's performance this year as head coach.

However, after the 2010 USU debacle, Bronco showed he's capable of making tough decisions. maybe, he can make a tough decision again and cut Howell off, and take over the defense once and for all.

A new years 6 bowl would have been nice, but this year was always about 2015 anyway.

What would have happened if we had won all these games, in spite of a terrible defense? It wouldn't have caused the type of pain that leads to staff changes. Without staff changes, we don't improve like we need to in order to compete against next years schedule. Maybe this is what we needed to have to force Bronco's hand in the Nick Howell experiment.

Bronco's not going to be fired this year anyway. He's not going anywhere until his contract is up in 2016. Firing a coach who does the off field stuff as well as he does, and still manages to win at a reasonably good clip would black list your program from any coach who has options. The coach we get if we fire Bronco now will not be one with options, and that's not the coach i want.

Our best case scenario is that Bronco makes another tough decision, fires Howell, and takes over the defense for what will be our best chance at making any national noise for the foreseeable future, otherwise known as the 2016 season. with a senior laden offense, a heisman contender at QB, and a young but potentially talented defense he has a chance to do something special. That's the boat we all need to get on, because Bronco isn't going anywhere for now.

here's to hoping.
