Players always do that. Players aren't going to say "we're doing everything we should but the coaches need to help us out more." And coaches saying players need to step up is more common than players saying their coaches need to step up. You're just not going to hear it.
But from a coaching standpoint, it's just dumb to not call it both ways. A coach who continues to lose for the same reasons and keeps saying that his coaches are fabulous and it's all on the players, is full of it.
