Driving back from elk hunting with my dad and grandad.
We went up Wednesday and came home Friday (had to be home for the game!) without seeing anything. Went back up this morning, hoping to get lucky before the early season closes tomorrow.

In the afternoon, we found some track finally, and followed it in the waning light until we spotted a herd of 10 in the distance at the foothills. They were around a mile away.

We didn't have the daylight to pursue them, so we headed back to set up camp for the night. As my dad and I set up, my gramps (the only one with a tag) was going through his papers, and realized the season ended today, not tomorrow like he previously thought...

So another 6 hour drive today..
