Here is just one example...
Last year Kyle Van Noy said after the Texas game that the game against Utah was the Superbowl in his mind. It was a huge reason why he came back for his SR year. Fast forward to 3 weeks ago after we lost to Utah St. Local sports show gets Van Noy on for an interview and asks him a few questions about instate rivalries and how they are. He responds by saying that Bronco needs to put more emphasis on these games, and prepare for these "getting punched in the mouth" type instances.

Here is a guy that wanted that game more than his coach and he is not afraid to say it. If Van Noy was playing for Nick Howell this year there would be words on the sidelines between those two because Howell flat out isn't cutting it and Mendenhall knows it but is too proud to admit it.

It is a more emotional and meaningful game...and it's stupid to ignore that fact. It actually gives the other team a significant advantage to not use that as motivation.
