Back A Yard and Dish Dash
Back A Yard - I didn't even realize they had a San Jose one, but I love the one up further north. Doesn't meet the requirement of being expensive though, $10-15.

Dish Dash--Would have to drive up to Sunnyvale, but it's very worth it (15-20 minutes from San Jose). Probably my favorite restaurant. Just went there this weekend. Around $20 a plate for dinner plus apps if you like.
