WSU had 75 plays, UoA had only 64 plays and BSU had 79 plays

So, in terms of yards per play:

Arizona - 7.92 yards per play (won by one TD at home)
Boise State - 7.22 yards per play (won by one TD on road)
BYU - 5.89 yards per play (lost)
Washington State - 5.69 yards per play (lost)

Looks like 600 yards is not enough to win in this case but what UofA and BSU got was enough when you adjust for number of plays.
