Bronco's priorities
From President Hinckley:
In the worldwide leadership training meeting held on June 21, 2003, President Gordon B. Hinckley taught us that as priesthood holders we have a fourfold responsibility. He said: “Each of us has a fourfold responsibility. First, we have a responsibility to our families. Second, we have a responsibility to our employers. Third, we have a responsibility to the Lord’s work. Fourth, we have a responsibility to ourselves.”

Notice that President Hinckley listed responsibility to employer as second and the Lord's work is third. Bronco is employed as a football coach. As the head coach he is paid to win football games within the rules the NCAA has established and in harmony with the church's standards. He is not paid to be a mission president, a bishop, or any other ecclesiastical leader. Each of the players that are LDS already have priesthood leaders and those who are not LDS would have an ecclesiastical leader that is responsible for caring for the players's spirituality. LDS players have home teachers, have an EQP, and have a bishop. If Bronco wants to help in this endeavor and mentor his players in life, that is secondary to what he is paid a lot of money to do, which is to win football games. If the team is consistently reaching Bronco's goals of 10+ wins seasons, top 25 ranking, and winning the in-state title, then go ahead and focus on the secondary stuff. But winning football games has to be his second priority, only after his family.

Football as a missionary tool for the Church is only effective if we are winning. Right now we are not. It's his job to figure out why we are not achieving his goals and make the necessary changes to right the ship. He hasn't been accomplishing his goals the past few seasons and whatever changes or adjustments he has made to correct this hasn't worked. It's time for him to do his job, get results or be let go.
