If you're Bronco, how do you beat Boise? Some thoughts.
Three keys:
1) Stop the run
Ajayi has gotten a lot of work so far this season (172 carries, 867 yards). Hedrick is accurate (71% completion percentage), but he makes a lot of mistakes (8 TDs to 10 Interceptions). Stop the run, because Hedrick is the weakness in this offense.
2) Run the ball and get into third and short
Boise's defense is ranked #37 in DFEI. BYU needs to take a ball control offense and, run, run run. Keep our defense off the field and wear their defense out.
3) Take advantage of field position and special teams mistakes
BYU's special teams are great (#14 in STE) and Boise's special teams are terrible (#101 in STE). Take advantage of field position (BYU #48 in FPA vs Boise #70 in FPA) and sit back and wait for the Broncos to makes mistakes.
