I don't think true BYU fans would ever consider becoming Yewt fans
I was taking my kids to BYU games from LV during the bad Crowton years. I complained about Crowton (who was sailing so long as the Doman/Staley train was running on time . . . but then crashed/burned), but still loved taking my kids to games. I even did my share of complaining about Lavell Edwards, but it never kept me from attending games or being loyal.

The only reason I did not attend the game on Saturday is because no other family members could make it. I have eight tickets and ended up giving them all away. I could only get a couple nieces/nephews to take them and had to go outside the family to hand them out. I watched the game on TV and, frankly, was glad I stayed home. Had I gone, however, I would have been one of the fans Bronco complimented at the end. Bad as it was, I would have stayed to the bitter end. Even when Stewart fumbled, I didn't change the channel. I not only watched the game to the end, but then tortured myself by staying up until 1:00 am listening to the post game show.

My family will always be BYU faithful. That doesn't mean we pretend that Bronco is master of the universe, however. The guy always seems to find a way to invite the negative spotlight onto himself. Giving the defense to Howell was a HUGE risk. It has NOT paid off. Yes, injuries and all that - but every coach has to deal with injuries. Bronco's teams can't hold leads. They don't play with fire of late, not nearly as much as their opponents. There is clearly something wrong - and it's not just injuries. This was manifesting itself when BYU was 4-0.

Regardless, I am now and will always be a BYU fan. I am not happy with Bronco, not happy with his post game comments where he took a swipe at fans leaving early when BYU completed a 28 point swing, giving UNR a 14 point lead. Sometimes he is just childish and should be above that. Still, I am going to Boise tomorrow and will be planted in the seats cheering for BYU on Friday, hoping the ship will turn around.

We have many great family memories of sharing BYU games together - and will continue, whether we are singing Bronco's praises or not.
