barring some major scandal they will ride out the contract.

I think it is a mistake because they stand a really good chance of losing top donors and recruits both of whom pay attention to the decisions coaches make. If they don't see change on the horizon they will move on.

BYU loses ground everyday with young fans to both local schools in USU and Utah and national programs like Oregon and Stanford. USC will be out from under their sanctions soon and it will only make Cal that much harder to recruit. BYU needs to signal they are going to do something about it. Adding black out and royal out games is just a band aid. Real change has to happen and do so quickly.
