what keeps me going right now is my assumption that BYU wants in to the Big 12. If we ever took a step backwards (MWC / AAC) I would walk away because that's a path to permanent mediocrity and a sign that we have given up. I love big-time college football too much to accept that BYU will never be part of the P5. I feel sorry for TH and those trying to make it happen because I think it's out of BYU's hands right now.

BYU did the right thing by dropping the MWC when UU did. We've tried to make the best of independence and I applaud it. But if we ever give up trying to get in to the P5 - or if we get left out of a 64-team (4x16) league, I would hope BYU would drop out. And if BYU didn't drop out I would (meaning no more games, merchandise, etc.). I love BYU football but I also love big-time college football and I'm only into it if the two converge or if the vision is that they will eventually converge.
