It would be a sign that it isn't happening in the near future.
I would like BYU to hold onto independence if possible as it does appear that it is the best transition point to a P5 league.
On the other hand, I am not so convinced that a decision to join the AAC is as dire as you portray it to be.
The MWC, to me, however, would be a step backwards in every way and I think distinctly damaging to BYU's program. Whether deserved or not, it is my impression that the AAC is held in higher regard in the sports media, etc.
