?? He had a Heisman winner in 1990, 19 seasons in. He had ranked finishes
in 1990, 1991, 1994, and 1996. He would have gone to a BCS game as late as 1996 under the rules that expired exactly 9 1/2 months ago. Shoot, Lavell still has one of his players (Brett Keisel) in the NFL. It wasn't THAT long ago.
Lavell only went downhill a bit in his last 4 seasons, and come on, he was an old man. Even at that, in today's era, he would have passed Broncos favorite measuring stick--that of being bowl eligible every season.
