Sorry, trolling to encourage anyone that thinks BYU is going to get stomped Friday that this is not the case and came across this post. I'm the Dept. Manager for the Boise State CS program and our Dept Chair is a BYU alum.
BYU CS is an incredible program, Boise State is not quite comparable but still turns out students to $65K+ jobs and 100% job placement. We face the same TA issues. Companies fight like crazy over these kids and interns are getting $20/hr+. We have 50 almost full tuition scholarships funded by local companies for juniors/seniors, just to help them recruit. Boise has a budding little tech industry with HP, Micron, Clearwater Analytics, CradlePoint, and MetaGeek being the more competitive companies. Of course we have graduates at Amazon and beyond. Biggest recent successes include Idaho's first Google Anita Borg Scholarship recipient. I say all this not to prop us up to BYU (because that's insane) but to show that this is happening elsewhere. Hottest degree/field right now, for sure. BYU CS is an incredible program, it's great your son is plugged in and going that direction!
