You couldn't be any more clueless if you tried. It's hilarious that you spout
your "competitive drive" while ripping on people like Bronco and Holmoe, not to mention the "spoiled and entitled jocks" (you know, our players) who have worked harder and achieved far more on the athletic field than you ever dreamed of. Do you really think that these guys are "enemies of success on the field and scoreboard, as long as they see the uniqueness of the (very noble) BYU experience manifesting itself"? If so, you have no idea who these men are, and you have no idea what you're talking about. It's completely hilarious to me that you think you're a more competitive person than Bronco or Holmoe. I'm assuming these are the "crowd" that you're talking about, because they have the most direct impact on the program.

BYU's problems on the field right now have NOTHING to do with firesides, Thursday's heroes, or anything else service/church/spiritual. They are football problems that can only be fixed on the practice field, in the film room, and with game reps. And I guarantee you that coaches and players are working their tails off to get this thing turned around. They're the ones with the most invested in their own success, unlike lazy slobs that like to sit at home in front of their computer and call the players "spoiled and entitled jocks."

And let's get this straight. Nobody at BYU gets a pass on their job performance just because they are upholding BYU's standards and values. A professor does not get a pass if they are lousy teachers just because they uphold the standards. Custodial staff does not get away with failing to clean buildings so long as they keep the standards. Similarly, football coaches do not get a pass on job performance just because they uphold BYU's values. Everyone at BYU, including coaches, are expected to both 1) do their jobs well, and 2) do it while upholding the standards and values. Nobody keeps their jobs if only one of those are being done.

Case in point: a number of football coaches have been shown the door at BYU over the past couple of years. An entire offensive staff was sacked. Every single one of those men were/are great examples of upholding BYU's values and standards, yet they were all canned. They were canned because the results on the field dictated change.

And that's what will happen with Bronco if the current trend doesn't turn around. Bronco's past performance has given him a bit of breathing room, but his seat will get more and more warm with every loss. Nobody, including Bronco, is entitled to their jobs regardless of performance. Holmoe WILL make a move if he thinks he can move the program forward quicker with a different head coach. Count on it. He won't dump Bronco anytime real soon, but it will happen eventually if Bronco fails to move the program forward.

Everybody at BYU understands perfectly well that the only way to effectively get the school's message out there and to accomplish the school's mission for its athletic programs is to WIN games. Nobody in BYU athletics is OK with losing, and everybody associated with BYU football wants to bring the program back to national prominence. This idea that they don't care couldn't be more wrong.
