My wife and I did the NCL cruise 6 months ago. I highly recommend it if you want to see all the islands. It's not cheap but then neither is food in Maui or wherever. But of all the places we went to, we liked Kona the best.

We did this back when it only cost $900. Was cheaper than a room and food.

Rent a beach house with 5 rooms. It will cost the same as a hotel.

With no kids, go to Kauai and rent a beach condo. Very nice!
