I've seen several posts about Bronco leaving on his own terms as the only way we would have a coaching change.
I don't agree.
If the stadium goes under 50k fans - he's fired
If donations drop off significantly - he's fired
If he loses to Savannah State - he's fired
If we don't go to a bowl game this year - he's probably fired.
The only way athletics work at BYU is if they are self-funded (or close to that).
If the fan base becomes so disgusted with Bronco that people stop funding the program, then a change will be made.
I think we have finally reached a tipping point in the fan base that he either wins out or he looses control of the program.
I think Bronco did his best and I'm grateful for it. He pulled us out of the Crowton years and he also made the case for a faith based school being a competitive program.
His seemingly 100% misses on coordinators and his love / hate (more hate than love) relationship with fans have now run their course though.
Time for a change.
